This month promises to unleash a complete Indian touch in local music industry, with preparations for the launch of Indo-Rwanda Nite and a new events company owned by three Indians in high gear.

The music gala, to primarily feature Rwandan and Indian artistes, is scheduled for March 19 at Petit Stade in Remera, and it will be taking place every quarter, according to organisers.

Local reggae king, Natty Dread, a member on the organising committee said that the objective of Indo-Rwanda Nite is to promote cultural and music ties between Rwanda and India.

The new events company, MAS Entertainment Ltd, to be launched at the same occasion, is a project jointly owned by businessmen Binoy Thomas, Irshad Mundockil, Binu M. Tharian Thomas. The Indian trio has been living in Rwanda for the past one decade.

MAS Entertainment Ltd is the official organiser for the Indo-Rwanda Nite events.

Indo-Rwanda Nite will also attract local sponsors, Binoy said.

One of the country’s entertainment moguls and sponsor of the event, Cobra, welcomed the project, saying it will help boost local entertainment scene.

Apart from local and Indian artistes, several regional singers/DJs will also participate at the inaugural Indo-Rwanda Nite.
