Gisozi recognizes election volunteers

Local authorities in Gisozi Sector, on Friday evening, expressed their appreciation to election volunteers from the area who participated in the recently concluded elections. The event was attended by electoral commission representatives and those who were recently elected.

Local authorities in Gisozi Sector, on Friday evening, expressed their appreciation to election volunteers from the area who participated in the recently concluded elections.

The event was attended by electoral commission representatives and those who were recently elected.
Patricie Murekatete, the Executive Secretary of the sector, said the volunteers worked hard during the elections.

"These people worked day and night during last year’s presidential elections and continued doing the same in the local elections and hence the needed to recognize them for their contribution towards the country,” Murekatete underscored.

She added that her sector did not register any malpractices during the elections attributing it to the commitment of the volunteers.

"The dedication these volunteers showed indicates how patriotic Rwandans are and the love they have for the country,” she added.

Murekatete noted that her sector has an electorate of 19,693, of which 98 percent turned up for local elections.

According to the electoral commission, preliminary reports indicate that over 90 percent of the registered voters turned up for the elections country wide.
