AMAVUBI head coach Sellas Tetteh has recalled Patrick Mutesa Mafisango and Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a Baby to the national team fold ahead of Rwanda’s must win 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Burundi on March 26.

Mafisango, who once captained the wasps and Baby, who plays for AS Cannes in the French second division league, are part of Tetteh’s 23-man provisional squad which begins training next Monday.

"The reason I have named Mafisango and Uzamukunda in the side is because they bring experience and agility to the side,” the Ghanaian said.

Mafisango, who now plays for AZAM in the Tanzanian premier league, fell out with Tetteh last year on grounds of indiscipline (after rejecting a call up to the team ahead of the decisive 2011 Africa Nations Championship qualifier against Tanzania in Kigali), but it has now been reported that the pair have ironed out their differences.

Since then, the center-back, who can also play as a holding midfielder, was overlooked for Rwanda’s opening 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Benin as well as the Senior Challenge Cup which was hosted in Dar es Salaam.

Meanwhile, Baby, who turns 20, has resolved his immigration problems in France and has been given a green light to feature against Burundi.

One other player who could sneak his way into the team is Abedi Said Makasi. The former Rayon Sport striker is a free agent after seeing out his contract with Morocco’s Difaa El Jadida.

Rwanda lieS bottom of Group H after identical 3-0 defeats against Ivory Coast and Benin, and must beat Burundi to revive their qualification chances.

Ivory Coast tops the group with six points; Benin is second on four while Burundi has one point.
