Eraste Byarugaba is the Public Relations Officer at Rwanda National Examination Council (RNEC).
Below, he shares with us how he spends his day of work;
I wake-up at 5a.m. I bathe before having breakfast. At around 6:30, I set off for work.

By 7a.m, I am in the office. I start my computer as I check on the day’s programme to decide on what to handle first.
 If I happen not to have accomplished something the previous day, that is what I have to deal with first.
And before I decide on what to do next, sometimes there is a morning knock at the door.

This forces me to leave everything and attend to that person.
It is such people who may decide on what I have to do depending on their demands.
Among other duties, I am in charge of giving information about the council’s activities, lead communication to other institutions as well as getting feedback.

I also head to the field especially during examinations period. I go for lunch at noon where I spend an hour.
I work until 6p.m when I head to Amahoro stadium for sports, though not always.

I spend at least 2 hours exercising my body. By 8p.m, I head home to enjoy the evening with my wife and children.
By 9, I have supper and get to bed at 10.
