RUBAVU - Kigali Independent University (ULK) - Gisenyi campus, yesterday, held its fifth graduation ceremony where 589 students were awarded with bachelor’s degrees in three Faculties.They included Economic Science and Management with two departments (Management and Rural Development), Law and Social Sciences, which also has two departments (sociology and administrative science).
RUBAVU - Kigali Independent University (ULK) - Gisenyi campus, yesterday, held its fifth graduation ceremony where 589 students were awarded with bachelor’s degrees in three Faculties.
They included Economic Science and Management with two departments (Management and Rural Development), Law and Social Sciences, which also has two departments (sociology and administrative science).
ULK conferred Management degrees to 296 students, 81 in Rural Development while Law, Administrative Science and Sociology had 53, 13 and 146 students respectively.
Of these 236 were female.
Addressing the graduates, Senator Rwigamba Barinda, the founder of the university, advised the fresh graduates to use the knowledge and skills acquired to create their own jobs rather than seeking employment from government.
"With the quality of education you have acquired here, you are in a better position to compete on the job market, but most importantly, to be your own employers,” said Rwigamba.
Rwigamba announced that the University will soon introduce Master’s and Doctorate programmes.
Since its inception in 2001, ULK- Gisenyi campus has graduated 2,016 students.
