Entering a home of some lady I had gone to interview a few days ago, I was stuck by how versatile the colour orange can be.

It so happens that after red orange is my next favourite colour followed by turquoise.

According to a colour chart that I read online, it says that colour orange represents creativity. It expands one’s thinking and is the colour of laughter and celebrations.

This lady’s home was full of colour orange and I must admit that immediately I entered the home I was taken in by the mood of the entire house.

For a long time people have refused to think outside the box, or have refused to venture in the world of colours, but slowly bold and beautiful colours are becoming a trend in the world of interior décor.

Orange is bright and bold, but it’s also a beautiful shade. Whether you use it as an accent colour or deck out an entire wall in persimmon-coloured paint, you can’t go wrong with orange.

To me, orange is a unisex colour that is cheerful yet sophisticated. It also coordinates well with a lot of other colours.

But mostly, it just makes me happy!
Another aspect about the colour orange is that rooms decorated in orange, have a designer’s feel and touch to them. Not only does it look expensive, they feel expensive as well.

Orange has a way of bringing out an appeasing energy, in a normally dull corner or large room. It is a fantastic colour to coordinate with other colours, such as mochas, tans, greys, blacks, and sage colour rooms.

Orange is a powerful colour that will look beautiful when correctly balanced.

Living room is a place where the entire family spends most of the time when at home, so it is natural that this room is given maximum attention when it comes to interior decoration so that it can burst with laughter and energy and colour orange can do just that for any home. 

Apart from being the colour of vibrancy, orange is also known to bring luck and is also a colour of activity and knowledge.

orange can look electric when you add orange patterns as accents in cushions, artwork, an area rug, and other accessories to add a splash of colour and life without becoming overwhelming.

Also dark, earthy oranges are wonderful for the dining room, creating a great mood and vibe that mostly is not present in the dining rooms.

The darker tones will also stimulate conversation and eating while creating a more dramatic, moodier environment, not just in this room but the entire house.

I have seen offices beautifully painted in oranges look stunning and has that inviting feel even if you have no business being there, it somehow attracts and encourages one to just take a look, and you never know an onlooker can be a client.
