KIGALI - Kigali City Council (KCC) confirmed yesterday they are in the process of selling the current premises of Muhima Technical Schoo( ETO Muhima), to developers.

Bruno Rangira, the Director of Media and Communication in KCC, said that local investors, CHIT Investment Group, requested the land to build a commercial complex on a 3.24 hectare land in the Central Business District.

"CHIT requested the land to build a commercial facility. They submitted their proposal to the Kigali Construction One-Stop Centre for approval,” Rangira said in a telephone interview.

"All I can say now is that it is still in its early stages. There are changes the construction centre requested CHIT to make before project proposal is approved,” he added.
CHIP Investment Group is mainly composed of traders in the Kigali major trading centre commonly known as Quartier Mattheus.

The group wants to construct a 12-storey facility which will include shopping malls and office space.

Rangira explained that Kigali City is also looking for a site to relocate the school.
