APR have to be on top of their game when they line up against Tunisian champions Club Africain this afternoon.
The two sides face off in what is expected to be a mouth-watering Orange Champions League second leg clash.

On paper, Club Africain are favourites to go through after scoring two crucial away goals in the first leg which ended 2-2 at Amahoro stadium.

However, the Primus league champions have been in a similar position before.

Last year, they stunned many when they knocked out Angolan side Recreativo de Libolo after a well deserved 1-0 second leg victory in Luanda.
The first leg, held in Kigali, had ended 2-2.

In the build up to today’s match, APR Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa alluded to the fact that the team has the quality to rise to the occasion.

"No one expected us to beat the Angolans away but we did so that should give the boys confidence,” the official said.
Head coach Ernie Brandts has a fully fit squad of 18 to pick from.

Despite dominating the league after winning12 titles in the last 16 seasons, APR does not command much respect on the continent.

The club’s best performance came back in 2004 when they reached the third round under the stewardship of Jean Marie Ntagwabira, now coach of primus league side SC Kiyovu.
