EALA to assess bloc’s tourism projects

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) will, today. begin assessing projects and programmes in the tourism and wildlife sectors in Partner States. The “on the spot assessment” will be carried out concurrently in Bujumbura, Kigali and Kampala.

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) will, today. begin assessing projects and programmes in the tourism and wildlife sectors in Partner States.

The "on the spot assessment” will be carried out concurrently in Bujumbura, Kigali and Kampala.

EALA members will also tour Arusha and Zanzibar in Tanzania, according to a statement from the EAC. 

The tour aims at helping the lawmakers take stock of progress made in implementing EAC projects and programmes within the context of the regional Tourism and Wildlife Marketing Strategy.

The EALA teams will meet with hoteliers and caterers as well as other relevant associations of tour operators.  
They will also engage government officials from the ministries of tourism and EAC Affairs.

The tour is part of the oversight function of EALA on the implementation of various programmes and projects of the EAC.
