I read with relief a story titled "Education examining needy students’ bursary appeals” in The NewTimes of Saturday (February, 26)

I am one of the students who was scrapped off the monthly stipend benefit following SFAR   loan scheme review.

Soon after the list was released without my name, I filed a complaint to SFAR and we were told to go back and continue with our studies as we waited for a resolution. I had lost hope.

Since the start of the academic year, I have missed a number of classes because I am always up and down looking for money for my upkeep.

However, it’s good to hear that the Ministry of Education is analyzing the documents and collecting data to establish the truth for a counter-review action. The ministry has also admitted errors in the data process collection which is a sign of responsibility.

I, therefore, commend the efforts and urge the ministry to speed up the process because we are being affected badly. Classroom attendance, is low and some of our colleagues have been discontinued. Remember, education is the best investment.
