According to the Rector of INES, Dr Deogratias Niyibizi, the pact will enhance research among the science students.
During the signing ceremony, the institute’s new guild council was sworn in.
Eric Tabaro was elected the new guild president, Clementine Uwimbabazi the vice president, and Aphrodis Ngabonziza the general secretary to the ten-member guild committee.
Tabaro promised to fight against HIV/AIDS and rally students behind government programmes.
He urged the institute’s administration to speed up the opening of the students’ hostels.
Speaking as guest of honour, former INES rector, Bishop Kizito Bahujimihigo asked the students to use their university knowledge to be innovative.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the guild councils from over five universities in the country and the provincial executive secretary, Deo Kabagambe.
