DON’T mess with Pierre Kayitana’s ‘Return Ticket’!  He has been down this road before, and he is believed to the best youngest film producer in the country. He is the director of Rwanda Cinema Centre (RCC)/ Hillywood Rwanda Film Festival and his film skills are inspiring.

A story by Pierre, directed and written by Kerim Esen, ‘Return Ticket’ was produced by RCC and
Amoral Film production.

The film is a fast mover and wastes no time to announce its intentions. In that respect, audiences won’t be glued to their seats wondering and trying to outguess what it drives to.

But the film wouldn’t work without a convincing lead of Kerim Esen and Pierre Kayitana. For
Pierre, it’s not like the field is new to him. He directed his first documentary in 2005
‘Behind These walls’, produced various movies and worked on some major world events in Rwanda
like, the ‘Pangea Day’. 

Call it the power of love. And that is, until Paul, a policeman from Canada has to extradite
Fidele, a suspected war criminal. And oh yeah, upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, Paul finds out that his return flight back home leaves only four days later.

The taxi driver, Innocent promises Paul to bring him to the Volcano National Park to see the
gorillas. However, Innocent may not miss his older sister’s wedding in Butare, so he invites
Paul as a special guest.

On their journey through the beautiful landscapes of Rwanda, Paul falls in love with the country and Innocent’s beautiful younger sister, Shan. Coincidentally, they discover that Fidele, who was mistaken for someone else, is the brother of Innocent and Shan.

The next day, a flat tire delays the journey to the gorillas. But for sure, Paul will come back because he has booked a "Return Ticket” to Rwanda.

The film was shot using the latest high definition equipment and is of international standard, starring Allan Karakire and Danon Fraterne Musoni, among others.

It is in English, and is poised to show the world the beauty of Rwanda. It will help to spread the word about a new country (on the go) the rebirth and a country with the odd to change.

The movie certainly comes into theaters with plenty of bona fides and its grand premiere is slated for July, 2011, during the Hillywood Rwanda Film Festival and, and thereafter, it will be set for various world film festivals.

At only 24, Kayitana has worked with some of the world’s big music and movie names, including Alicia Keys (founder of Keep A Child Alive organization), Robert de Niro (the founder of Tribeca Film Festival) and Jane Rosenthal. He is the Line Producer, Location Manager, and Associate Producer for the Sundance Best Audience choice 2011, "Kinyarwanda " and, yeah, he knows a thing or two about the best selling movies.
