Inaugural Radio Umucyo Gospel Awards on the cards
A local Gospel FM station, Radio Umucyo, is organizing a Gospel Awards event. Fifteen choirs were nominated by the listeners through SMS on Radio Umucyo, to compete in the finals slated for March 27, 2011 at Bambino Super City Park in Kabuga. Speaking to the media early this week, one of the organisers of the event, Aline Gahongayire said that: “Most of the solo gospel artists have been recognized in the previous music awards but the efforts of choirs have so far not been recognised.”

The event will be the first of its kind in the country, with the winner expected to walk away
with a prize of Rwf 1 million.
