Clarification
In our Tuesday issue we reported that Rwanda Geology and Mines Authority (OGMR) wrote to the American government requesting a delay for tagging all mineral exports. The authority says it did not write to the American government but to the electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) Extractive work group.

In our Tuesday issue we reported that Rwanda Geology and Mines Authority (OGMR) wrote to the American government requesting a delay for tagging all mineral exports. The authority says it did not write to the American government but to the electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) Extractive work group.
It also says that significant tagging is already being done in Rwanda and that when the deadline becomes effective, it will be those untagged entities to be affected not the whole mining industry. The most likely section to be affected will be the small scale producers.
