I read with gratification The New Times dated February 11, in which the best performing students of Ecole Technique de Gitarama (ETO-Gitarama) have since 2005-2007 been awarded for their excellence.

The initiative of awarding best performing students is good. It sets a challenge for others to compete for excellence as well as equipping students with more skills to increase their chances of attaining good grades.

With due respect, I second the policy of awarding best performing students with prizes of scholarships, certificates and cash awards. After all, a good dog deserves a bone.
