The National Information Office (ORINFOR), will Friday award some of its best partners. The state owned media organ will be recognizing politicians, customers and members of the audience who have played a major role in facilitating the operations of the institution.

"We will recognize politicians who are media friendly. Those you can call at night and will respond to your call or those who SMS you that they are in a meeting and will call you back later.” said Willy Rukundo, the acting Director General of ORINFOR.

"We will also award advertisers and suppliers who sometimes had to wait for their payment, and people with whom we interacted in our usual programmes, either by calling or sending emails..”

The ceremony is aimed at bridging the gap between the institution and the public.

"It’s should motivate people in authority or news makers to be media friendly,” Rukundo said.

The candidates for the awards were nominated by ORINFOR employees. Tigo and Bralirwa are among the key sponsors of the event.
