Former Ferwafa Vice President Célestin Musabyimana failed to retain his seat on the Caf executive committee after losing out to Tanzania’s Leodegar Tenga in yesterday’s polls in Khartoum-Sudan.

Musabyimana, who was seeking a second term as head of the Central-Eastern zone, could only muster 19 votes compared to Tenga’s 34.

The two Fifa slots were claimed by Algerian football federation president Mohamed Raouraoua and Ivorian Federation chief Jacques Anouma.

Anouma retained his seat after collecting 35 votes while Raouraoua replaced disgraced Nigerian official Amos Adamu after claiming 39 votes.

Suketu Patel of the Seychelles mustered 12 votes while South Africa World Cup organiser Danny Jordaan and Adamu’s replacement Ibrahim Galadima returned 10 and five votes respectively.

Adamu is currently suspended for seeking bribes during the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bidding contests.

Zambia’s Kalusha Bwalya had withdrawn from the contest earlier in the month but the 1988 African Footballer of the Year still had plenty to celebrate in Khartoum.

The former PSV Eindhoven star took one of six available places on the Confederation of African Football’s executive committee when sweeping the Southern Zone.

Ghanaian FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi was also victorious as he picked up 34 votes to defeat Beninois rival Anjorin Moucharafou in the Zone West B region.

Elsewhere, Tunisia’s Tarek Bouchamaoui (Northern Zone), Omari Constant of DRC (Central Zone) and Guinean Almamy Kabele Camara (Zone West A) were all elected unopposed.
