ONCE again, the premiere of the much awaited ‘Amapingu y’urukundo’ didn’t happen due to unexpected circumstances beyond the organizers’ control.
The movie’s premiere has been postponed thrice, since the original date which was December, 2010, at Petit Stade.
However, the desperate organising committee has now rescheduled the event for August, 2011, which they refer to as ‘the final date’ and hope this time around for success.
‘Amapingu y’urukundo’ – (The handcuffs of love) portrays different lifestyles in the country, such as sex and religions and social status.
The movie, produced in Kinyarwanda, also depicts forced and genuine love, where genuine love symbolizes handcuffs which bond those who are truly in love during hardships.
Nuhu Ibihebihibindi, the Executive Secretary of Roots Cooperative Production, the organisers, told The New Times the postponement of the premiere led to a loss of Rwf 1.2 million.
Various artistes, including Riderman, Naason, Urban Boyz, Elion Victory, Dream Boyz and Kamichi were expected to perform to spice up the event.
