I am writing to commend representatives of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) in the Eastern Province for sacking 10 electoral officials in Rukomo and Rwimiyanga sectors of Nyagatare district for malpractices during the local elections.

There is no room in our country for such people and the culprits must, not only be expelled but face the full force of the law. It’s regrettable to learn that the NEC officials who had been trusted to ensure fair elections betrayed the electorate.

I am certain that the sacking of these officials will be a big lesson to others.
