The Rwanda national rugby men’s team, Silverbacks, are fired up for the upcoming Hong Kong-based Kowloon rugby 10s. This was revealed by the national coach and rugby federation’s National Technical Director, Gerald Nsenga.

According to the former national rugby star turned coach, the provisional team of 35 is currently training three days a week at Apred Rugunga grounds.

He also revealed that the Silverbacks, courtesy of the Ministry of Sports, also work out at Be Fit Gym located at the Amahoro national stadium.

"Gym sessions are very important in body conditioning and strength development. We are very thankful to the Ministry of Sports which availed the gym facilities to the team,” the youthful coach said by phone.

The Silverbacks are at the gym every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday while on the other days, less Saturday, they practice from Rugunga.

A rugby 10s team comprises ten starting players and five possible tournament substitutes. This means that only 15 players will make it for the Hong Kong trip set for March 19.

"This Friday, the list will be trimmed,” Nsenga revealed.
