AS Kigali vs Ruhango

APR is determined to wrestle arch rivals AS Kigali for the 2011 national women football league title. The army side won the inaugural edition in 2008 but then lost out to AS Kigali in 2009 and 2010.

The league kicks off this afternoon with four games on cards. Inyemera host Rubavu, Remera Rukoma play Les Lioness, Muhoza face Rambura while APR entertain Bugesera.

In the run up to today’s game, APR coach Egide Kayitesi said that the team has done their homework and are ready to reclaim the title from AS Kigali.

"It is very disappointing when your rivals keep winning trophies but we have done our homework and are ready to fight up to the end,” the 35-year-old said.

The APR-Bugesera game will be played at Ferwafa grounds.

AS Kigali open their title defence tomorrow against Ruhango at Kigali Regional Stadium.
