RUBAVU – This year’s annual District Joint Action Development Forum that brings together local leaders and various development partners opened up on a high note, on Thursday, in Rubavu with record attendance of 89 institutions  drawn from both public and private sectors.

The two-day event, which concluded yesterday, was organized by Rubavu District in conjunction with the Joint Action Development Forum (JADF).

JADF is a platform that is operational in all the districts of the country. The forum was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Local Government.

The forum’s mandate includes setting relevant policy items for the local population, and its membership is drawn from local committees in all the sectors, according to Evariste Bizimana, the Forum’s president.

"The open day will enable people understand the various services that we offer as well as helping us share experiences with other development stakeholders,” said Tharcisse Nzikobankunda, the president of African Evangelistic Enterprise, one of the participants.

MP Annie Marie Musabyemungu commended the District for organizing such an event which she said helps residents and the country, in general, to develop.

"Rubavu Joint Action Development Forum is among the most efficient in the country,” said the legislator.
