KIGALI - A delegation from the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) is expected to arrive in Kigali today for a three-day visit.

According to the Parliamentary Director of Communications, Augustine Habimana, the 12-member delegation will be headed by the CPPCC Vice Chairman, Li Zhaozhuo.

Habimana said the visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two legislative organs and would see delegates meeting heads of the two Houses of the Rwandan Parliament.

"The Chinese Deputy Speaker of Parliament will, on his first day, meet his Rwandan counterpart, Jean damascene Ntawukuriryayo. Afterwards, he will have a brief meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and the President of the Senate,” he disclosed.

On the same day the visitors will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister and thereafter tour the Free Trade Zone in Nyandungu.
