NYAGATARE - Over 90 percent  of the classrooms constructed under Nine-year-basic Education programme has been completed in Nyagatare district.

Officials say that about 118 classroom blocks are being constructed in the district in the second phase of the construction works.

Speaking to The New Times on Thursday, Martin Hakizimana, the district education officer said that construction works at most sites are in final stages.
"We are remaining with minor finishing works,” he said.
He added the construction works did not affect the official opening of schools.

"Despite some works that are remaining to be completed…students reported at their schools on the official opening date,” he said.

He, however, noted that chairs for the additional classrooms for the students was still a challenge at some schools.
