I wish to commend the Ministry of Public Service and Labour for intervening to solve the complaints from  Utexrwa employees.

However, the ministry and other relevant authorities should look beyond just what is happening at Utexrwa, and investigate other public and private institutions.

Of    recent,  some employees have lodged legitimate complaints at the Office of the Ombudsman, following alleged mistreatment by their own managers.

While some employees have been helped by the Ombudsman’s Office, others are still struggling to get justice. For instance, last year, many employees from Travaux d’Interêts   Générales (TIG) had problems with the management after they were fired unfairly. 

The findings from a Public Service Commission probe indicated that the evaluation exercise of the civil service was partly used to fire some employees maliciously.

I wish to appeal to relevant bodies to investigate this issue thoroughly and get to the root of the problem.

Employers ought to know that, without treating their employees fairly, they can hardly achieve their targets.
