Senators Kamanzi, Kagabo to face disciplinary hearing

KIGALI - The senatorial special committee charged with the conduct of Senators is today expected to table its report regarding the misconduct of two Senators, Jose Kagabo and Seth Kamanzi.

KIGALI - The senatorial special committee charged with the conduct of Senators is today expected to table its report regarding the misconduct of two Senators, Jose Kagabo and Seth Kamanzi.

"I will present my report tomorrow (Tuesday) and the report concerns the conduct of two Senators,” said Sen. Antoine Mugesera who heads the committee.
He, however, refused to reveal details until the senatorial sitting.

"I don’t make declarations to the media; I will first present the report to the Senate then the media can report from the presentations,” said Mugesera.
However, a source who works with the upper chamber intimated that the two Senators in the report are Kagabo and Kamanzi.

Kagabo is, alleged to have had a brawl with a driver at the airport, while Kamanzi is alleged to be embroiled in land wrangles.
No further details on the two cases were readily available by press time.

Article 9, of the 2008 organic law on leadership code, prohibits leaders from acts or statements indicating that he /she does not tolerate divergent views and use of dictatorial tendencies and intimidation, among others.
The article may be referred to during the hearing.
