Despite the huge gulf of experience and quality between the two sides, Uganda was made to work hard for their wins.
In the first game, Uganda won by three wickets. Rwanda put on 85/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Subhasis Samal top scored with 28 runs while Eric Dusabemungu added 18.

"They (Uganda) have been around for sometime but I’m glad that we put up a fight. The team played with great zeal and commitment,” the Australian said.
"We still have to work on our batting but overall, I thought we did great.”
