President Paul President Kagame on Thursday delivered a keynote address at the 2008 annual meeting of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Boston, Massachussetts, US.

His address focused on the role of education, science and technology in Rwanda’s dramatic political and economic recovery.

Over 2000 people attended the function themed "Science and Technology from a Global Perspective". They included scientists and engineers from major US and international universities and research institutes, educators, and policy-makers, and registrants from around the world.

The president of the AAAS, Dr David Baltimore, visited Rwanda as part of the association’s initiative to explore partnership with African countries in science and research.
