The Executive Secretary of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), Frannie A. Léautier, has promised to support the newly formed Parliamentary Research Unit.
Léautier, made the commitment yesterday during her visit to the Senate following the ACBF 20 anniversary celebrations that were held in Kigali.

Senate president, Dr. Vincent Biruta, explained to Léautier that the unit was put in place to help parliament monitor the government’s work.

"Members of parliament need to know well researched information concerning government programmes,” Biruta said, adding that the unit needs more capacity to be able to serve its purpose.

ACBF has been involved in capacity building with a number of parliaments in Africa.
