Mayor Kangwagye promises to promote greater “modernisation”

RULINDO - Outgoing Mayor of Rulindo district, Justus Kangwagye, on Wednesday promised to spearhead greater forms of “modernization” in the district, if re-elected. Campaigning for Sector advisory council position at GS Rulindo High School in Bushoki Sector, Kangwagye also promised to promote the mining industry, agriculture and livestock farming in the area.

RULINDO - Outgoing Mayor of Rulindo district, Justus Kangwagye, on Wednesday promised to spearhead greater forms of "modernization” in the district, if re-elected. 

Campaigning for Sector advisory council position at GS Rulindo High School in Bushoki Sector, Kangwagye also promised to promote the mining industry, agriculture and livestock farming in the area.

"My first five-year tenure saw the extension of clean water, infrastructure development and building of schools. I will work closely with Cell, Sector and district officials to modernize the entire district, if re-elected,” he pledged amidst cheers from the crowd. 

"Our target is to shift from traditional methods of mining and farming to modern export oriented ones.”

On good governance, Kangwagye said he will promote participatory decision making among residents. 
"Participatory decision making is a very vital ingredient in enhancing democracy and development among residents,” he stressed. 

Kangwagye and his vice for Social affairs, Emillien Niwemwiza are seeking re-election, while the vice Mayor for economic affairs, Deo Nzamwita opted to run for the District top position from neighboring Gakenke District.
