AMAVUBI head Coach Sellas Tetteh knows that defeat against Tunisia will all but end Rwanda’s hopes of reaching the last eight at the on-going Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Sudan.

On Monday, Rwanda lost their opener against Senegal 2-0 and need a result this afternoon to revive their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.

However, the Senegal defeat was not a true reflection of the game. Rwanda enjoyed the lion’s share of possession but couldn’t convert it into goals.

Amavubi captain Haruna Niyonzima, Peter Kagabo and Jacques Tuyisenge were all guilty of squandering scoring opportunities.

Niyonzima went close with a screamer but Ndiaye Khadim pulled off a class save when he parried the shot away for a corner mid way the first half.

Kagabo hit the cross bar while Tuyisenge shot wide with only Khadim to beat on the 82nd minute.
After all the wasted chances, Rwanda looked like they would have to settle for a draw only to be stunned in the final minutes.

Kasse Moustapha set the stadium alive with the opener after shooting past Rwanda’s second choice goalkeeper Jean Claude Ndoli.

In added-on time, Diop cemented the points after a well-taken free-kick at the edge of the penalty area to secure victory for the Teranga Lions, who reached the semi finalists in the maiden edition held in 2009 in Ivory Coast.
Tetteh has now challenged his team to bounce back.

"It is obvious that everyone was very disappointed after the Senegal defeat. The least we expected was a draw because we dominated the game,” the Ghanaian said.

"But that is now in the past and we have to focus. Tunisia is a very good side with lots of experience,” he added.
Senegal top the Group (D) with three points, Angola and Tunisia have a point each while Rwanda is at the bottom with zero points.
