The idea of Rwandatel taking its activities to remote areas will act as a persistent treatment  to what I may call a communication barrier amongst peasants.

Many will benefit from the service, and the monopoly power by its MTN-counterpart in call tariffs will generally be minimized.

Rwandatel’s venturing in investing mobile telephone services may also see the two telecom companies locked in call tariffs wars, like it is, in some neighbouring countries.

Apparently, a new communication network (Warid) in Uganda has caused panic among telecommunication companies since it came up with lower call tariffs, almost half of what MTN Uganda, Mango and Celtel charge per minute.
