THE National Paralympics Committee (NPC) has delayed the sitball and sitting volleyball championships because of lack of funds.

The NPC head Dominique Bizimana yesterday revealed that the championships would start in April after they have secured funds from their usual sponsors Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

"We requested for some funds from the Sports Ministry but there has been no feedback till now,” he said.

"We are now counting on financial support from Laureus Sports for Good Foundation, Cassie Sociale and Fond Guarantee,” Bizimana said.

This year, NPC Rwanda will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Last year, the sports body scored high after lifting the Sitball World Cup.

The men’s side beat Germany in the final while their female counterparts edged Switzerland.
