KIGALI - Kigali Business Company has confirmed that at least 95 percent of the interior work on the Nyarugenge Modern Market has been completed, while final touches, especially on the outside part of the building, would be complete by mid March.

This was revealed, yesterday, by the Kigali Business Company chairman, Paul Karangwa, during an interview.
Kigali Business Company, the proprietor of the market, had earlier announced that it would be completed by the end of January.

According to Karangwa, the final touches needed careful attention which led to their missing of the earlier deadline.
He explained that the company had ordered for power transformers from Belgium, whose delivery was delayed, saying that they only arrived on Monday.

"We are doing everything possible and we have set March 15, as the final deadline. If everything goes well, the market will be open for business before the end of March,” he said.

Meanwhile, Karangwa said that the cost for the project had increased from the previously estimated Rwf 9bn to approximately Rwf10.5bn.
