He is not the first one, several other artists have made it in the East African music industry, the land of big names like Jose Chameleon, Bebe Cool, and the currently seemingly silent Nairobi based OGOPA DJs.

Young gospel artist Alfred Kwizera has set his sights on the regional music market.

The 22 year old artist is working and meeting with several potential promoters and producers to facilitate him in his endeavour to penetrate the market.

Already on his resume is his performance alongside Uganda’s crème de la crème at Namboole International Stadium to usher in 2011

The musician from Rwanda Victory Mission Church, Kanombe, has just finished shooting his first video in Kigali City with Bob Rowsse from Uganda.

The video of the song Ibagirwe Ibyahise (Forget the past) was, for the first time, aired on Rwanda Television on Monday.
The ambitious young artist plans to go for music production studies in the USA so as to develop his career and also help other artists.

His first album, Humura Nshuti (Friend, don’t be afraid), which was launched in December, has 9 songs recorded, produced and arranged by Junior Kafi at TOP5 SAI inc. studios in Musanze District with Rnb, Hip Hop, Zulu and Slow genres.

Kwizera is now working on his second album at A.V production in Kicukiro centre. He sings contemporary gospel music. 
There have been so many changes in gospel music over the years. The artists that produce this music have altered the sound to attract different age groups from all walks of life.
It took the efforts of artists like Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, and Yolanda Adams to change the face of gospel music.

From the smooth sounds of Sam Cooke to the dancing, acrobatic vocals of Kirk Franklin, gospel music does more than just sound sweet; it literally moves its listeners.
The saints met the sinners in full bloom as the sounds of gospel music flourished in new and exciting formats.

The message was still the same, but it was being delivered by a whole new breed of youthful singers. These singers possessed a new presentation method that carried the message to a new crowd.
