AS KIGALI coach Grace Nyinawumuntu has her sights firmly set on winning the national women league for a third successive year.
After guiding the Kigali City Council side to back to back titles in 2009 and 2010, the 31-year-old has made her intentions clear by further bolstering her squad with five new signings.
The new players include Theognie Mukamusonera (center back), Nadia Uwineza (defensive midfielder) and the striking trio of Sophie Niyomugaba, Oscaire Iratena and Janine Nyirahafashimana.
"We have reinforced the squad with a couple of new players and we believe we have enough depth to win a third title in a row,” Nyinawumuntu said.
The league kicks off on February 19 and will feature 11 clubs namely APR, Rambura, Inyemera, Remera, Rubavu, Musanze, AS Kigali, Ruhango, Les Lionnes, Ruhango and the National University of Rwanda (NUR).
