RRF secures rugby pitch

The national rugby federation (RRF ) has secured a play ground for the next four years. According to the federation’s vice president Alex Araire, RRF signed a four-year deal with Lycee de Kigali, one of Kigali’s secondary schools, to lease the ground.

The national rugby federation (RRF ) has secured a play ground for the next four years.

According to the federation’s vice president Alex Araire, RRF signed a four-year deal with Lycee de Kigali, one of Kigali’s secondary schools, to lease the ground.

"We have been using Ape Rugunga’s ground for the league and other local tournaments but we have been sharing it with many other sports federation so we have now taken on Lycee de Kigali’s ground and we intend to upgrade it to international standards,” the official said.

This year, Rwanda is set to host Africa’s Division 2 tournament. Other teams in the fray include Tanzania, Seychelles, Burundi and DRC.

Meanwhile, the national men’s rugby team-the silverbacks have started non-residential training ahead of next month’s Kwoloo 10s in Hong Kong.
