Editor,

The support and alliance of the UN to the Rwandan fugitive, Patrick Karegyeya in the training of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia is regrettable.

It’s not only an insult to the Rwandan justice system but also a total slur on the AU.

The link between UN, TFG and Karegyeya is really adding an insult to the injuries given the fact that, UN could have been one of the paramount pillars in the implementation of the recent court’s ruling and Police press release notice requesting to arrest Karegyeya and his accomplices Kayumba Nyamwasa, Gerald Gahima and Theogene Rudasingwa,  so that they serve their terms.

Would really someone be wrong to term this collaboration as UN’s attempt to
destabilize the region and encourage the culture of impunity? However, whatever is done in a bid to cover these barbaric and cowardly self-proclaiming politicians, the people of Rwanda will continue to resist whoever wants to destabilize our country.

What the people of Rwanda want is that whoever commits crimes must face the law regardless of his or her position in society.
In my view, Somalia shall not attain stability at the cost of the region but through cooperation with the genuine regional allies and international friends.
