Deejay Pius has blessed music lovers with an eleven-track EP as he celebrates his 35th birthday. The DJ and artiste dedicated the EP to the late Rama Isibo, who was one of the best composers in Rwanda’s music industry and a close friend to Pius.
Real name Rickie Rukabuza, Pius is among the DJs that have been around for a while. He has been a singer for at least 10 years and a DJ for over 15 years.

The EP comprises of 11 songs namely ‘Easy’, ‘Ntakibazo’ ft Jose Chameleone, ‘Sibyo’, ‘ Today’, ‘Belly Dancer’, ‘Wicked’ ft Kivumbi and Maestobooming, ‘ Ndakumeza Neza’, ‘ Falling’, ‘ She Love Me’ ft Bruno K, ‘ Test Drive’, ‘ Urabikwiye’ ft Lexivone and Jules Sentore.
The Extended Play (EP) was produced by producers Niko Ye, Madebeats, Knox beat, Ronnie, Remix, Habbert Skillz and Bob Pro.
Pius revealed that he had been working on the EP for a year and Rama was always involved during the making of the ‘Thirty-Fine’ EP.
"When looking for the EP’s names I chatted with Rama and we came up with ‘Thirty-Fine’ from the two possibilities ‘Thirty-Fine’ and ‘The Life of Pius’. I dedicate the EP to him because we used to do a lot of writing and studio work together the past years. Most of the music I did on the EP he was always involved,” said Pius
About DJ Pius
Rubakuza, born in a family of 13, began playing music while serving as an entertainment prefect in high school in Uganda. After completing his A Level at Lycee de Kigali, his aunt hired him as a DJ when her club debuted in 2005. Later, he continued spinning discs on the side while working as an IT consultant. In 2009, he teamed up with Tumaini to form Two 4 Real and the two of them collaborated to record over 40 songs for the album ‘Nyumva’. In 2016, Pius decided to embark on a solo career after splitting with his band mate.
