The National Electoral Commission (NEC), yesterday, held a one-day training session for electoral volunteers in Kicukiro District who will preside over the grassroots elections.

Alloys Mwitende, in charge of elections in the district, said in an interview that those trained include NEC volunteers at village and cell levels in all the 10 Sectors of the district.
He said that participants were trained in the rules and guidelines regarding the elections.

The training was carried out by NEC officials in conjunction with sector officials in charge of elections and civic education, who had themselves undergone similar training a few weeks ago.

Mwitende called upon all residents in the district to turn up for the elections and to exhibit discipline during and after the elections.
