Members of the advisory committee of the Swiss International Development Cooperation (SDC) are in the country to assess several projects supported by their organization.
A press statement from SDC indicates that the 12-member delegation is also in the country to witness the progress brought to the population by three SDC-funded projects.
"They will visit Kibuye Hospital in the Western Province, and will also have an opportunity to meet with parliamentarians in Kigali,” reads the statement.
Meanwhile, information from the Parliament indicates that the delegation will, today, , meet with that Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
"The delegation will hold talks with the MPs on how effective the Swiss aid is used,” reads another statement from Parliament.
The advisory committee’s main task is to advise the Swiss Federal Council and various federal agencies, including SDC, on how to ensure effectiveness of the projects they fund.
The SDC is the agency responsible for international cooperation within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss government.
With other offices of the Swiss Confederation, SDC is responsible for the overall coordination of Switzerland’s development cooperation and humanitarian assistance across the world.
