Allow me to use your newspaper to commend the organizers of Fespad, a bi-annual cultural show, for the good work they have done in promoting the image of the country in Africa and beyond.

I was on a flight recently, and I eaves-dropped on a conversation of how last year’s Fespad changed the way people looked at Rwanda.

The conversation revolved around how so many cultures and dances were on display all at once showing a part of Africa that hardly appears in the mainstream media.

I must confess, the conversation made me even more proud to be Rwandan. That said, I would encourage the organizers to see how they can make the event a tourism product, just like the Kwita Izina ceremony. I am sure if marketed better, Fespad would rake in foreign exchange.
