All is not well at Rwamagana City as the crisis-hit club has gone three months without paying the players, Times Sport has learnt.
Players who preferred anonymity told Times Sport that they have for long been claiming for their salary arrears for the last four months but in vain.
Some players are unhappy with the situation to the extent that they wanted to boycott Friday’s training session but failed to convince their teammates on the plan.
Club president Nehemie Uwimana admitted that they haven’t paid players their salaries in two months’ time but that the club is working with the district, their prime partner, to address the issue by the end of February.
"We owe them salaries for two months. We have requested the money from the district and they are working on it. We are aware of the issue and we discussed it with players,” Uwimana said.
Rwamagana City are winless during the past two games and the current financial crisis could affect their results in their future fixtures including a trip to Huye where they will visit Mukura on Saturday.
The club now sit 14th on the league table with 16 points, three clear of the relegation zone.
