Why should gov’t workers spend three hours at lunch break?

Editor,

It is evident that time wasted can never be recovered but some civil servant in Kigali have not put this into consideration. They report to work at 9am and before they do much they are ready out for lunch, from noon to 4pm.

They come back to the offices and before they sit to serve people lining up to their offices, it is time to go home.
When you go to someone’s office, you are told they have gone for lunch and after three hours of waiting, you are informed that you can only see them the following day.

Time is a great asset especially for a country, that is trying to achieve its development targets as set out in vision 2020.

It’s  high time we revised our schedules and remembered that we are not working for our bosses but for the Nation at large.

It is my sincere appeal to all workers to consider this and boost Rwanda’s output and enable it to prosper to greater heights.
