Rwanda Horticulture Development Authority (RHODA), yesterday, launched the Third Party Certification Global  Trade Fair and Organic Export training in Muhanga District.
According to the Director General of RHODA, Dr Ndambe Nzaramba, the training brought together representatives from cooperatives and companies from both the public and private sector.

The 12-day training will focus on Training of Trainers (TOT) in its first group of 20, whereas the second group will attract 30 cooperative and company representatives.

Nzaramba explained that the training, organized by RHODA and supported by the Belgian Technical Cooperation, would be facilitated by the Swedish Gro-link Consultancy. The training aims at improving export standards to meet the global market requirements.

"We organized these trainings in efforts to create required expertise for our producers, exporters and distributors. We have learnt that many are ignorant of the global market specifications hence failure in recording intended achievements in the sector,” he said.

Nzaramba further noted that it was crucial for producers to meet certain standards if they are to break through the world market, a vacuum RHODA is trying to fill through the trainings.

He added that the demand for high quality exports would improve horticulture production and increase profits.
