Rwanda’s representative in the Tusker Project Fame season four (TPF4), Gilbert Gabiro, had a special moment of happiness over the weekend as his first single ‘Byarikubera byiza’ hit on the airwaves.
The song was produced from Narrow Roads Records by well-known music producer Pastor P.
Gabiro explained that his song holds a great message of courage and hope: "When you struggle to get something through proper channels, chances of achieving it are high” he noted.
The singer, who is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Kigali Independent University (ULK), told The New Times that he is using the skills he acquired from the Academy’s world class music teachers to become a professional musician.
The 22-year-old, who claims to be inspired by his own daily life and views Nelson Madiba Mandela as an icon who motivates him as he fought for freedom, also said he is set to travel to Kenyan Capital of Nairobi. He is expected to work with East Africa’s famed music producer, R-Kelly, on his new compositions.
