MTN to sponsor capacity building summit in Kigali

KIGALI - MTN Rwanda, on Thursday, agreed to facilitate the forth coming African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) summit that is scheduled to take place early next month.

KIGALI - MTN Rwanda, on Thursday, agreed to facilitate the forth coming African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) summit that is scheduled to take place early next month.

The sponsorship package was announced after a meeting between MTN CEO, Khaled Mikkawi and a high level team from the ACBF offices in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The telecoms company will provide starter packs for over 400 international delegates, free wireless internet and sponsor the development of a website for the conference which will be launched ahead of the conference.

Meanwhile, Bakary Kone, who headed ACBF delegation, thanked MTN the support.

"We are hosting a number of Heads of State and institutional heads from the World Bank and African Development Bank and it’s really good that they will witness the existence in Rwanda of Public Private Partnerships,” he said
Mikkawi said that his company was proud of being associated with an institution that has played a critical role in the development of much needed capacity on the continent.

The two-day summit which is expected to take place at Serena Hotel will attract heads of state and government, academics, development partners and ACBF officials.
