Would you wear the Rwandan traditional hairstyle-Amasunzu?

“It’s not always good to borrow what you don’t have. We should protect what we have. Our Rwandan hairstyle is great and we should be proud of it and embrace what we have and preserve our history.” Rusagara Benjamin, SFB student.

"It’s not always good to borrow what you don’t have. We should protect what we have. Our Rwandan hairstyle is great and we should be proud of it and embrace what we have and preserve our history.”

Rusagara Benjamin, SFB student.

"Old days are gone with everything that it had but, we should keep some of our heritage in the museum for our children to tell the history of our culture.”

Muhozi Wilberforce, SFB student.

"I do support the Amasunzu hairstyle but I think the reason why people no longer wear it is because the people who know how to shave heads that way cannot be seen anywhere while others believe that maintaining it would be very hard.”

Victor Gastinzi, Program manager City Radio.

"The Amasunzu hairstyle was pretty good during the time of our grandparents but today, I can’t recommend anyone to go for it.”

Josephine Uwizeye, Kicukiro resident.

"During the ancient days Amasunzu was good and everyone loved it. However, since the world is going global, people should adjust with time but we shouldn’t discourage people who still value and opt to wear it.”

Dian Mukundwa, SFB student.
