APR’s opponent in African Champions League preliminary round, Club African of Tunisia arrived in the country yesterday ahead of Saturday’s first leg match clash at Amahoro National Stadium.

The Tunisians’ delegation arrived here with 18 players and five technical staff members, and according to one of their officials, the former winners are focused on ousting the military side as they target to reach the group stages of the lucrative competition.

Meanwhile, home side APR will be hoping to a good start as they seeking to reach the group stage of this competition for the first time. Last year, the national league champions were eliminated at the first round stage by the eventual African champions TP Mazembe 3-1 on goals aggregate.

APR’s Dutch coach Ernie Brandts, who has enjoyed a good start at the helm after winning his opening nine games in the Primus National Football League and will be looking for a replica display in the Orange Champions league.

The winner of the two-leg preliminary round will face the winner between Egypt’s Zamalek and Kenya’s Ulinzi Stars in the first round.

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s other representatives; Etincelles arrived in Brazzaville yesterday ahead of their Saturday’s battle against AC Leopards in the Caf Confederations Cup.
