Business excellence awards postponed

Rwanda Development Board’s (RDB) business excellence awards, which were slated for today have been postponed to February 4, the Business Times has learnt. The highly regarded prestigious awards are organised to recognise businesses, individuals and SMEs that made an impact towards the growth of Rwanda’s economy in the previous year.

Rwanda Development Board’s (RDB) business excellence awards, which were slated for today have been postponed to February 4, the Business Times has learnt.  

The highly regarded prestigious awards are organised to recognise businesses, individuals and SMEs that made an impact towards the growth of Rwanda’s economy in the previous year.

Vivian Kayitesi, Head of Investment Promotion and Information at RDB said that the venue where the ceremony had been planned to take place was, nolonger available.

At the gala event, 15 categories will be nominated, including investor of the year, exporter of the year and SME of the year. They include sector winners in tourism, ICT, general manufacturing, agro-processing, mining, finance, real estate and special category winners; customers service winner, women entrepreneur of the year and the most business friendly district.

This year, the awards were rebranded to Business Excellence Awards. Formerly they were known as RDB investor and Exporter of the year awards.

RDB outsourced GPO Partners Rwanda Ltd to ensure free and fair selection of outstanding companies. However, final winners are being selected by an independent panel of eminent persons from the public and private sector.
